Exclusive Thickets Song in "Rock Band" PAX Pack DLC

The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets on Rock Band

Vancouver-based independent band have a track included as downloadable content on Rock Band.

This weekend The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets became the only independent Canadian band on the popular and critically acclaimed Harmonix video game ROCK BAND. This past weekend a unique set of downloadable songs was announced at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle. The band performed at this expo along with other acts included in the Harmonix set: Jonathan Coulton and MC Frontalot. The “PAX pack” of songs includes the previously unreleased track “Shhh….” by Vancouver’s H.P. Lovecraft-inspired rockers.

“As a fan and a player of Rock Band, the amount of excitement I feel about this is, as Lovecraft would say, unspeakable.” says Thickets lead singer Toren Atkinson, “I feel tremendously thankful to the cool folks at Harmonix and Penny Arcade for offering us this amazing opportunity. It is icing on the cake that Harmonix is donating proceeds to Child’s Play and that a local hospital, BC Children’s will also benefit. “

The Harmonix/MTV Games’ proceeds from the sale of this “PAX Pack” between launch and Holiday 2008 will be donated to the Penny Arcade run Child’s Play Charity, a Charity active at BC Children’s Hospital and children’s hospitals around the world.

All three tracks are available for download for $2.99 (240 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) from Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION®Network.
