Don’t wait for Understanding Comics (or Reinventing). They compliment and overlap, but easily stand alone. The facial material in Making Comics is great.

Already got Making Comics, but haven’t read it yet. Still working on DC Comics Guide to Inking and Perspective for Comic Book Artists.
