A trackback is, quite simply, a way for you to comment on another blog by using a post on your own blog. If you go to his entry, you’ll notice he’s got a trackback link as: http://diceofdoom.com/blog/2008/09/cthulhu-to-rock-too/trackback/ which you then enter into the “Trackback” area of this post, which is under “Advanced Options” below the editing area.
